Getting started

Warm up your accounts before you scale.

How to build trust with Meta from day one and avoid rejections, disables and billing issues on fresh accounts.

Before you launch your first big campaign, warm up your new ad account properly. A few days of patient pacing tells Meta a real advertiser is behind the account and protects your assets from early bans. Follow these steps in order and you will be scaling on solid ground.

The warm-up, step by step

01
Day 1

Run a $5 engagement campaign

Start with one simple engagement campaign on a $5 budget. This shows Meta a real person is behind the account and builds billing trust before you spend real money.

  • Objective: Engagement
  • Use a clean image tied to your brand, your logo or a simple product shot works best
  • Let it fully spend the $5 before you do anything else

That small budget triggers two tiny billings, which is exactly what establishes billing trust with Meta. Avoid random or unrelated images. Recent behaviour rewards content that clearly relates to your brand or offer.

02
Day 1

Launch up to 3 conversion ads, no more

Once the engagement campaign has fully spent, you can move to conversions. Keep it tight on the first day.

  • Publish a maximum of 3 conversion ads
  • Keep total daily budget at or under $150
  • Do not launch more than 3 ads on day one
  • Wait 24 hours before adding any more

Three or more rejections on a brand new account can trigger a ban. Pacing your launch is what protects the asset.

03
Day 2 and beyond

Scale gradually

Once you are past day one and Meta has started to trust your activity, you can open things up.

  • Add 3 to 5 more ads on day two
  • Start raising budgets
  • Keep scaling slowly as trust builds

A brand new advertiser launching 20 or more ads on day one is a red flag to Meta's systems. Slow and steady keeps you live.

Pro tips to improve approval rates

  • Post around 5 organic posts on your Facebook page before you launch any ads.
  • Avoid discounts over 50%. Meta flags offers that look too good to be true.
  • Keep reviews realistic. Skip the fake 50k review blocks and stick to 30 to 40 visible reviews.
  • Keep your funnel and landing page clean, fast and consistent with your ads.

If an ad gets rejected, clean it up fast

Rejected ads quietly hurt your account health. They drag down the performance of your other ads too, so your CPM, CPC and CPA all creep up. Do not leave them sitting there, and do not delete them. Deleting a rejected ad does not help. The fix is to edit it into something clean and get it approved.

  1. 1Open the rejected ad and edit the creative to something simple and harmless.
  2. 2Edit the ad copy to match, keep it plain and clean.
  3. 3Point the destination to a safe placeholder domain while you clean it up.
  4. 4Turn off languages in the ad settings.
  5. 5Check there are no errors showing, then publish.
  6. 6Once it is approved, you can switch the ad off.

Keeping your account free of piled up rejections keeps performance strong. If you want a hand, message your operator and we will review it with you.
